The First movie we saw was avatar by James Cameron. I would like to discuss, not a particular scene, but the movie as a whole and how it has some themes that are recurrent to themes done by past film done by James Cameron. For Example, Both Avatar and the Terminator have strong female characters\

I would also like to point out another recurrent theme present in avatar of how James Cameron's films will frequently comment on the dangers of corporate greed. Drew, do you think the fact that these repeated themes are clever or do you think that James Cameron does this simply because he cant think of any new themes?

Billy, I feel that James Cameron portrays the dangers of corprate greed theme for a reason, maybe its because they make for GREAT movies or the fact that it very well represents the life we live in today. I find it funny that Avatar was the highest-grossing film of all time to go along with the theme of corporate greed. Other themes from the movie such as racism, imperialism/militarism, and environmentalism also show themes in everyday life.

last time i checked avatar wasn't the highest grossing film of all time but it wouldn't surprise me seeing as Cameron made it there before with the titanic. After Watching and doing some research on the first Terminator, I have concluded that Cameron must have really liked his cast for This film because he seems to recast more actors from this film than any other film he has made. He even married one of the actors

check again, because it definatly is with over 2.6 billion in revenue. its funny you mention titanic because that comes in at number two with 1.8 billion. I definatly agree that he does replay a few characters multiple times. Especially Michael Biehn who played as "Kyle Reese" in the first Terminator. I bet you didnt know that The Terminator was Cameron's first big break as a film director. Other companies didnt want to risk the money on a rookie director. It was a good thing somone gave him a break because all of his movies have been pretty amazing as far as plot and action wise.

I suppose so. One thing that i realized when i was watching the first terminator is that Cameron repeats the theme artificial bodies. In Terminator,Arnold Schwarzeneggers role is a perfect example of this as are the exoskeletons in Aliens, and the human gene spliced alien giants of avatar.
